Pre Season Week 1
Saints struggling to keep up |
A difficult away trip to Nottingham ended in a 53-37 defeat, no riders managing to get to double figures. All the riders struggled to get to grips with the tight track all struggling with the setup. For the Saints reserve Carl Perrin was the only real rider to impress with a paid 8 score. Nottingham's big money signing Karl Deurell shone in front of his new home supporters with a paid maximum on debut, it won't be long before he's classed as a fans favourite if he keeps this form up.
Pre Season week 2
The first home challenge fixture saw Woodhouse Warblers come to town and a 10 point victory for the Saints. New loan signing Tamas Siklosi was wheel perfect with a five ride fifteen point maximum, the now released Paul Gibbings was signing off in style with a paid 8 score. Perhaps the biggest surprise was that of new 77k signing Jarno Gronlund with an impressive 13+1 on home debut outshining his more experienced partner and Finnish team mate Magnus Pohja 5+1. Australian Brad Forster was the highlight of the Warblers with a paid 13 score the only highlight for the visitors.
Pre Season Challenge #3
A vs Rowley Regis Rockets
For the first time this pre season the Saints we're able to track their first choice 1-7. New signings Ales Poljsak and Peter Dolan made there debuts and were solid at second string and reserve. Under pressure Chris Lucas rolled back the years and silenced his critics with a full five ride maximum. Again new signing Jarno Gronlund performing really well with another double figure score.
All in all a great victory against the league rookies and we'll be looking to kick on again with our home fixture against Desford.
Pre season Challenge #4
H vs Desford Dynamos
Division one outfit the Desford Dynamos came to town this week for our 4th pre season fixture. the 8 point victory for the Saints was a decent one full of fight. Loanee Tamas Siklosi again led the team from the front, 13+1 his return but not today's top scorer. That accolade goes to the Finn Jarno Gronlund, what a pre season he's having, dropping just one point today too Kevin Flindt Berg. Alexy Kruze top scored for the visitors with 11.
